Labor Day weekend unofficially marks the last weekend of summer, but that doesn't mean it's a somber occasion. On the contrary, the holiday typically warrants a day off from school and work to explore local attractions and attend countless celebratory events and festivals around town.
We rounded up 14 of the most highly anticipated Labor Day weekend events in Cleveland, Akron and the surrounding areas, including free yoga classes, comedy festivals, foodie-centric soirées and family-friendly gatherings. Let's send summer off in style!
Since 1823, The Great Geauga County Fair has delighted residents and visitors alike with livestock, live entertainment, mouthwatering fair food, thrilling rides and so much more. This year, the festival is expecting more than 13,000 exhibits, over 2,000 animals, hundreds of commercial displays and vendors, and contests such as chicken flying, frog jumping and the diaper dash. And if you can't imagine what those contests would look like, you'll have to come see for yourself!
The Cleveland National Air Show has been a local tradition since 1964. The thrilling show combines educational exhibits with flybys and tactical demonstrations by air teams.
