Everything You Need to Know About Columbus' New Night Market
If you're a fan of perusing the local farmers market, you're going to love what's in store for you this summer!
Columbus' infamous North Market will be hosting a Night Market inspired by the traditional outdoor gatherings popular throughout Europe and Asia, fostering a carnival-like atmosphere with a delicious array of food, locally made goods, bars and live music. Plus, entry is completely free! Sounds like a good way to spend a summer evening, if you ask us.

The Lowdown
The markets will occur three times this summer, including July 20, August 17 and September 21. On these dates, you can expect all of the perks of the traditional North Market, but with a bit more pizazz! Meander through the colorful booths, sampling authentic, globally inspired cuisine along with fine wine, inventive cocktails and craft beer from local vendors. While you're munching, shop from independent vendors offering handmade goods including statement-making art, trendy clothes, hand-poured candles and other unique, made-in-Ohio treasures. It might be tough to leave empty-handed! Additionally Trapped Columbus will be providing interactive escape games for your entertainment, and part of the proceeds each week will go to a local cause. There's only one way out, can you find it? Since it's a family-friendly event, there will be plenty of activities for your little ones, as well. Bring the kiddos to enjoy fun games and free face painting. And make sure to wear your dancing shoes — some of Columbus' most beloved local acts will be performing.The Details
The event will take place at North Market (59 Spruce Street, Columbus) from 6-9 pm each night. Note that some traditional North Market merchants will also be open until 9 pm — but we recommend getting there early for the best experience. Plus, July 20 marks the grand opening of North Market's new Mini-Super, a small marketplace for everyday groceries including locally grown produce, fresh dairy and breads, and high quality meat. The Night Market will take place rain or shine, so you might want to hold off on those rain dances for the foreseeable future. Even so, if the weather doesn't cooperate the tents are all well sheltered! North Market draws more than a million visitors every year and is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Central Ohio. It serves as a community gathering place, entertainment place and trusted venue for local vendors to show off their goods. The market has been around since 1876, fueled by the loyalty of merchants, farmers and customers alike. It's one of our favorite things to do in the Columbus area because of the high quality goods and the irresistibly friendly atmosphere, and we think that the Night Market is only going to add to the charm.
