Independence Day is rapidly approaching, which means the citizens of Cincinnati are gearing up for another year of fireworks, friends, family and freedom! There is so much going on in the Queen City this year to celebrate the occasion. So much, in fact, that it might be difficult to decide which events to attend!
We rounded up some of the most notable Fourth of July events in Cincinnati this year to help you plan your weekend, including dazzling fireworks displays, live concerts, family-friendly festivals and the annual baseball game at the Great American Ball Park. Don your red, white and blue and get ready to celebrate America in style!
When: June 30, 7:30 am to midnight
Where: Hyde Park

The Hyde Park Blast will include a 4-mile run through Hyde Park, bike races, kid races, chariot races and more — all followed by a magnificent block party on the square! Whether you choose to compete in the races or not, you can enjoy craft beer from Braxton Brewery and 50 West, fresh barbecue and live music from DV8. All proceeds benefit The Cure Starts Now and the Karen Wellington Foundation.
When: June 30, noon-11 pm
Where: Symmes Township Park
This Independence Day festival will end with a bang! Before the fantastic fireworks display at sunset, enjoy live music, food and vendor booths, family-friendly activities, and more. Also, make sure to stop by the car show, which makes its debut this year.

Where: Crossroads West Side
Anyone on the west side of town should make sure to stop by the Crossroads West Side Fireworks extravaganza! This family-friendly event is for everyone young and old and features food trucks and a free fireworks show after sunset.
When: July 3, 10 am-9:30 pm
Where: Coney Island


There is no better place to be on Independence Day than Coney Island! Bring the whole family to enjoy the day at Sunlite Pool, listen to live music, partake in family-friendly activities and get your thrills on the theme park rides. When the sun sets, the sky will be illuminated by a spectacular hot air balloon and fireworks show.

Where: Northside
The Northside Fourth of July Parade + Carnival is one of the biggest, best and most festive parties in the city all year! The parade has been held since 1854 and is a tradition beloved by locals. The Rock 'n' Roll Carnival was added as an extension of the celebration in the early 80s, and features live music, local beer and food vendors, family-friendly activities, and so much more. Bust out your red, white and blue costumes (the crazier the better) and come out to celebrate America's independence.

Where: Pierce Township Park

Independence Day is going to the dogs! Dress up your furry best friend in their patriotic best and bring them to parade around Pierce Township Park. They'll have the chance to win prizes, take photos in the pup photo booth and enjoy plenty of treats.

Where: Summit Park
Pat Benatar, Neil Giraldo, John Waite and the Arthur Rozzi Pyrotechnics will perform at this grand Independence Day celebration! Dance along to your favorite hits, enjoy food and drinks from local vendors, and marvel at the biggest fireworks display in the tri-state area.

Where: The Great American Ball Park
There is nothing more American than watching our nation's pastime at the Great American Ball Park. Come root for the home team as they take on the Chicago White Sox. Be sure to stay after the ninth inning for a spectacular fireworks show over the stadium.

Where: Ault Park

Come celebrate America at Ault Park's annual festival! The day is filled with family-friendly fun, all-American concessions, live music, a children's parade and more — and it all concludes with a fireworks show after the sun goes down.
When: July 4, 8 pm
Where: Riverbend Music Center
Celebrate America's birthday with great music, dazzling fireworks and picturesque views of the river as the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra presents its annual Patriotic Pops concert! They will perform inspiring classics, including America the Beautiful, Stars and Stripes Forever, and so many more. Bring a picnic to enjoy on the lawn during the show and don't forget to stay after the last note to see the fireworks!

Where: Washington Park
Every Wednesday during the summer months, Washington Park hosts free, outdoor movie screenings! Bring a picnic basket, a few lawn chairs and your favorite people to enjoy Independence Day (1996) on the Fourth of July. There will be wine, liquor, craft beer and snacks available for purchase.

Where: Kings Island

After a long, thrilling day at the Kings Island amusement park, you'll be able to kick back and enjoy a dazzling display of fireworks over the roller coasters. The park actually hosts nightly fireworks shows during the summer (as regulars of the park already know), but the Independence Day show will be more than 20 minutes in length! The park will be open until midnight, giving guests the chance to stretch the day even longer. Military members receive free admission on July 1-4.
