The Cactus Pear takes the cake when it comes to options, offering 18 different variations on the margarita. Indulge in whatever flavor captures your fancy, from sangria and piña rita to chipotle and prickly pear. If you want to keep it classic, opt for the house margarita, which comes frozen, on the rocks or half and half (for those of you who just can't choose). Come on a Monday and enjoy the margarita of your choice for just $4 a pop.

This swanky, local chain offers upscale Mexican street food in a colorful atmosphere. Settle down at a comfortable table, order a few tacos (Baja fish, crispy pork belly, grilled salmon, oh my!), and chase them down with a refreshing margarita. Our favorites are the Nadarita, made with tequila, triple sec, lime juice and honey, or the spicy yet satisfying chile mango, made with habanero pepper, mango and pineapple and finished with a chile-salted rim.

Patrons line up at Mazunte for the no-frills, authentic Mexican cuisine that is hard to find anywhere else. Anything you order here, be it tacos, rellenos or enchiladas, will fill you to the brim and still have you coming back for more. The margarita comes one way — on the rocks — and at just $6.95, it's one of the best in town. Good things take time, so be prepared to wait a bit for a table.

This trendy hot spot on Vine Street is nearly always busy, but weathering the crowds will be rewarded with savory tortas, flavorful tacos, a great atmosphere and tasty margaritas. There's always a seasonal option that pulls us in (currently a number with fresh clementine and hibiscus syrup), but you can't go wrong with the classic Bakersfield margarita. If you're looking for something more luxe, spend a few more dollars for the premium margarita with el Arco Blanco tequila and a Grand Marnier floater.

El Toro serves up large and delicious Mexican dishes with a side of charm and good service. Regardless of what you order to eat, you had better be sipping on a Coronarita. This fishbowl-sized marg comes frozen with a mini bottle or Corona dumped upside down. The flavor changes the longer you drink, which we find simply delightful (and also kind of fun).|
